Evaluation and Factor Analysis of Industrial Carbon Emission Efficiency Based on “Green-Technology Efficiency”—The Case of Yangtze River Basin, China

In the context of low-carbon development, effectively improving carbon emission efficiency is an inevitable requirement for achieving sustainable economic and social development. Based on panel data 11 provinces municipalities in Yangtze River Basin (YRB), ranging from 2000 to 2019, this paper uses green-technology measure industrial via stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) incorporated with productivity. This provides a comprehensive analytical framework assessing efficiency, quantitatively measuring reduction potential, clarifying incentive channels. The results are as follows: (1) (ICEE) YRB presents increasing trend. Although differences among narrowing, their still prominently imbalanced. (2) potential reducing emissions region shows upward-to-downward decline such each province municipality recent years indicates that further becoming more difficult. (3) Effective means improve ICEE level industrialization, promote technological innovation low-carbonization, raise Meanwhile, significant spatial spillover effect emphasizes necessity strengthening coordination policies YRB. research adds new perspective evaluation also reference technical support government enhance formulate green development policies.
